The Pyramid Group provides high quality specialist English training for executives and professionals. With decades of training experience, our clients are assured of a first-class service. We provide professional language training to executives from a wide range of companies which operate in international business environments around the world.

Our English and Golf courses have been designed to cater for those individuals who wish to take advantage of the opportunity to travel to one of the most beautiful areas in the UK: Cornwall. To conform with the busy schedules that all executives face today, our intensive English and Golf course expertly combines customised English training with time on the golf course (tuition and play). All of this in a relaxed but effective learning environment.

Customised Programme

This programme consists of 20 hours per week of customised English training at The Pyramid Group´s UK office and 5 afternoons per week at Truro golf course. Apart from 5 rounds of golf, 2 individual training sessions with the club professional are included.

Participants will be interviewed in advance in order to establish their language level and to discuss the course content. This will also be an opportunity for the trainer and participants to get to know each other.

Our English and Golf courses are available for individuals and small groups.

All preparation, course design, materials, daily transport, green fees (and 2 training sessions with the golf professional), English training, lunches along with dinner on Sunday and Friday are included in the price.

Level of English: from beginner to advanced
Level of golf: any handicap

This course is available all year beginning every Monday.

Food for thought: the Cornwall course can easily be supplemented by subsequent online training!

Accommodation

We use a range of carefully selected hotels and B&Bs in Truro all of which are within easy walking distance of the city centre. Once we have received confirmation of your booking, we will then liase closely with you to arrange the accommodation.

Our aim is to also offer an Executive Home Stay where the participant would stay at the home of an English family. We hope to be able to offer this option from the start of 2019 onwards depending on availability.

Truro

The only city in Cornwall, although Bodmin is still nominally the county town. Truro’s most striking feature is the cathedral, with its green spire and gothic appearance. Built at the turn of the century it dominates the Truro skyline with its 250 foot high towers and has some interesting Victorian stained glass windows. The south aisle of the cathedral is what remains of St Mary’s Church, said to be one of the finest pieces of medieval architecture in Cornwall. Its decorative style contrasts with the simplicity of the new part of the cathedral.

The city’s heritage is as a market town and port dating back over 800 years, booming during the tin mining era. Sat at the head of a navigable stretch of the River Fal Truro was within easy reach of the sea but more protected than Falmouth downstream.

Golf
Cornwall has a wide range of beautiful golf courses including a number of famous links courses. We use the delightful Truro course for the week´s golfing activities although we would also include the opportunity to play on a links course, e.g. Perranporth.

Truro Golf Club

An 18 hole, par 67, 5,339 yard parkland course with putting green, ample parking, practice area and golf lessons with PGA Professional available. Truro Golf Club, with its mature course set in a superb landscape was founded in 1937. In gently undulating and easy walking countryside and populated by mature trees, the course provides both a challenging test for low handicap players and enjoyable golf for all. Maintained in excellent condition by head green keeper Jim Sheehan and his team, a combination of attractively set fairways leading to some surprising slopes and borrows on slick summer greens makes for a course to delight members and visitors alike.

Perranporth Golf Club

One of the finest links courses in the South West, Perranporth boasts spectacular panoramic views throughout this championship course. With stunning views over the sea and the extensive golden sands below, few courses are better placed than this. So, pause a moment on the 5th and 14th tees and take in the truly spectacular scenery of which you could never tire.

Taking advantage of the natural contours of the landscape means that James Braid, course designer, was successful in creating each hole with its own individual demands and character. Not only this, but the greens which are fast and absolutely true have a reputation for being amongst the best in the South West.

At 6296 yards this exciting par 72 is a challenge for both high and low handicappers. It is a course you will want to return to play time and time again
